Natterings

Hands up I've been a bad blogger. A very-very bad blogger indeed. I've neglected this site for far toooo long.  Hopefully you all know about my baking venture Kooky Bakes. If you don't have a look at what has been zapping my time.

Now this does not mean that i've been slaving away in the kitchen baking every hour of the day.   I have had some tasty and 'erm not so tasty meals out and about.

I've continued on my quest for the perfect burrito at Daddy Donkey and Benito's Hat. Full write ups will follow. Being a creature of habit I'm becoming mildly addicted to my Friday afternoon grilled feast from Moo Grill.

So for the time being you will have a bit of ScottCanEat and ScottCanBake.  But fear not ScottCanCook will be back very soon with some tasty recipes.

What more could you ask for on a Saturday morning than a game a pin the tail on a tranny, buy a cupcake, pick up a vintage find, win some lovely jewelry and eat confections by yours truly!

If you came down the the Eat Your Heart Out Bring & Buy Fundraiser on Saturday the 10th of April you could have done that and more!   As with all things EYHO this was a avant-take on church hall fete.  All money raised went to support eight international unfunded artists. The funds enable them to continue to create new work for inclusive audiences across the UK.

EYHO founder Scottee invited me to join in the sale and I could not turn down the offer.  A bit of a major accident happened on the night before the Bring & Buy, Scottee fell off the stage at the Round House, so rather than hosting the event he was laid up in the hospital getting stitches and casts galore.  Myra Dubois and Ms Anabelle Sings did a wonderful job of hostessing the event.

There were stalls from selling vintage togs and jewelry from the likes of Tatty Devine, Phillip Normal, Rainbow Faggot and Bourgoise & Maurice. Art By James Unsworth & Ryan McClelland. The sweet tooth was catered for by Molly Bakes and some loud American known as ScottCanCook.

A while ago I announced that I had partnered up with Springpad, - which I think is the the best online organizer. Thanks to Springpad I'm now the poster child of efficiency and orginization. Bearing in mind, that before I started using Springpad I had a million different browser bookmarks of recipes, restaurants and general goodies spread over three computers and my iPhone. Now I store them all in one easily accessible account at Springpadit.com.

All the recipes on ScottCanCook.com can be easily stored to your Springpad with the click of a button, these will be stored along with the rest of your findings on the web.

Do you have an iPhone? If you do, things just got a whole lot better for all you Springpadders. The Springpad iPhone App is finally here! The Springpad iPhone App is the newest way to save and access all of the information you want to remember, be it recipes from my site, restaurants to visit, or even books you want to read. All with the simple little free app from the lovely peeps at Springpad.

If there is one thing I lack it's the ability to be organized. The web is full of wonderful inspiration, but with bookmarking and printing of recipes it can lack a but of organization,

Fear not a great little company called Springpad is coming to the rescue.  Springpad is a online personal organizer to save and use just about anything — recipes, products, restaurants, ideas, notes, articles, and more. I find that as I get older the days fly by even quicker. When I was 10 I never imagined what it would be like to turn 30. Well I felt that feeling about 8 years ago. see how time flies!  We live in a society today that is obsessed with fast living sometimes it's hard to remember what happened yesterday or even last month for that matter.

Cue Project 365. It's been a minor phenomenon for a few years now with the advance of popularity of photo sharing sites such as Flickr and Picassa. Basically you take a photo once a day. Upload it to a site. At the end of the year you have a photography road map of where you have been, what you have seen and even in my case what I've eaten.

I found out about Project:365 from a high school chum Ally. She is a passionate photographer who takes amazing photographs. Have a look at her Flickr Stream.

Have a look at my Project 365 photo stream.  While you are at it, add me as a contact so we can see each others year in photos.
